The method

What is electrolysis?

Electrolysis is a permanent hair-removal method in which a very fine probe is inserted into the hair follicle, and a small electric current destroys the follicle's ability to grow hair.

How is electrolysis different from laser?

Laser targets the pigment in the hair, which is why it does not work well on blonde, grey, red or fine hair, and why it has limits on darker skin tones. Electrolysis targets the follicle itself, regardless of pigment - so it works on every hair type and every skin tone. Laser is faster, electrolysis is permanent. There's a difference, and it matters.

Is electrolysis permanent?

Yes. It is the only FDA-recognised method for permanent hair removal because it targets and disables the growth centre of each follicle.

Is electrolysis safe?

Electrolysis has been used safely for over 145 years. The probe is single-use and sterile. Aftercare guidance is given in your consultation and after each treatment.

Sessions and treatment plan

Sessions and treatment plan

How many sessions will I need?

This varies by person, but most people need 12 to 30+ sessions for a full area. Hair grows in cycles, so we treat each follicle in its active growth phase over several months.

How long is each session?

Sessions range from 15 minutes to 2 hours depending on the area and density of hair.

How often should I come in?

Most clients are seen every 1 to 4 weeks depending on the area and growth pattern. Your personalised treatment plan is discussed at consultation.

Does electrolysis hurt?

Sensation varies. Most describe it as a quick heat or tingling feeling that's manageable and short-lived.

Who electrolysis is for

Who electrolysis is for

Does electrolysis work on blonde, grey, red and fine hair?

Yes. This is one of the main reasons people come to us. Laser cannot treat hair that lacks pigment. Electrolysis works regardless of hair colour or thickness.

Is electrolysis safe for all skin tones?

Yes. Because the current targets the follicle and not pigment in the skin, electrolysis is safe and effective on all skin tones, including deep skin tones that laser cannot safely treat.

Is electrolysis suitable for PCOS and hormonal hair growth?

Yes. PCOS and hormonal growth is cyclical and often stubborn for laser. Electrolysis works at the follicle level and is one of the most effective options for hormonal facial and body hair.

Do you offer gender-affirming hair removal?

Yes. We provide a calm, private and respectful environment for transgender clients seeking permanent removal. Treatment plans are built around the person, not a template.

Booking, pricing and aftercare

How do I book?

Call or WhatsApp 07444 894878 to arrange a consultation. We are open every day from 09:00 to 18:00.

Do I need a consultation first?

Yes. Every new client has a consultation before treatment. We discuss your medical history, hair removal history, assess the area, explain the process, carry out a patch test if suitable and agree a personalised treatment plan.

How much does it cost?

Pricing is based on session length and the area being treated and is shared at consultation. Get in touch to discuss your individual treatment plan.

What should I avoid before a session?

Avoid waxing, plucking, threading or epilating in the area for at least 4 weeks before treatment - the hair needs to be in the follicle. Shaving and trimming are fine. Detailed pre-care and aftercare guidance is given before booking.
